Something I really liked about working here was that my boss was very understanding that I am a student and would always prioritize that over being her employee.
What I wish was different
I wish I would’ve been able to do homework while working at the front desk because 1) it was a work study job 2) there was nothing to do most of the time.
Advice
Being knowledgeable not only about library policies/hours but also anywhere on campus.

PLUS Academic Tutor

What I liked
I enjoy my employers and how pleasant and helpful they are towards me. I also love the flexibility of the PLUS Academic Tutor position where I was able to block out time that I wasn't available during class times. I enjoy how flexible this job is towards schedule changes every quarter which I have never been able to find in any other jobs that I have had in the past. I enjoy meeting with students and assist them achieve their academic goals for success in their classes.
What I wish was different
Although this job is featured as a 15 hr/wk job the hours vary a lot depending on the amount of assignments as well as appointments you have with students. You will not be guaranteed 15 hours a week every week. Sometimes students have to cancel a meeting, or don't show up and you're unable to work for that hour.
Advice
If you love the intellectual environment I'd highly recommend applying to this job. Be cautious if you're very dependent on a steady 15 hours a week for work. If you find yourself not in this position this is the perfect job for you.

Sitting for 8 hours is very difficult. I couldn't break it up by going to the gym since I wasn't paying summer tuition.
