The Lied Center for Performing Arts is a state-of-the-art performing arts venue located on the campus of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and is currently ranked among the top 100 theaters in the world. Every year, iconic artist from the worlds of music, theater, dance, and more perform at the Lied, with recent artists including Yo-Yo Ma, Idina Menzel, Wynton Marsalis, Harry Connick Jr., Trevor Noah, American Ballet Theater, St. Louis Symphony, and many more. The Lied also hosts major touring Broadway musicals like Phantom of the Opera, Waitress, Kinky Boots, and Jersey Boys. The Lied’s mission is to educate, inspire, and entertain the people of Nebraska, and we take the education component of our mission seriously. Nearly 100% of the artists who visit the Lied each year work with UNL and community students while they’re in Lincoln, and we also take programs to communities throughout the state. In addition to what’s on stage, the Lied offers a wide array of virtual and live webcast programming, making the arts accessible to people regardless of circumstances.
