Sales Associate

May - August 2018 • Boise, ID

What I liked

I loved the fast-paced environment and the community of working there. Sherwin-Williams gives you a good job of instilling pride in the company and also in your work. I was trained well.

What I wish was different

When I came into the position, the manager had just quit, and Sherwin-Williams took way too long to replace her. The Assistant Manager was doing double duty. In the course of the months that I worked there, the crew of 5 people dwindled to 3-4 people, and finally, by the end of the summer, they had hired enough people to run the store with 7-8 people. It was a stressful summer to say the least.

Advice

Have an open mind, and work hard. Listen at every opportunity, because there is always something to learn. Don't quit right away, and it could take up to 3 months to feel remotely comfortable in your work. All in all, a fantastic place to work, and hope to work there again someday, possibly after college.

Management Intern

April - August 2018 • Pittsburgh, PA

What I liked

I enjoyed working with a team of interns to improve the usage of the Sherwin Williams ProApp and to increase their Eastern Division e-commerce sales.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have had more time in the district office working with upper level management.

Advice

Never hold back when working with a team, always feel free to share experiences or ideas. In the end, your ideas may not be the final answer, but they help the whole team get to the finished idea and project.
